The most expensive bottle of champagne in the world

Champagne GDD Chapuy holds the prestigious accolade of creating the most expensive bottle of champagne in the world, which was sold for 1.8 million Euros in 2013.

The private commission featured a unique diamond encrusted platinum bottle enclosure, accented by a mesmerising 19 carat Flawless D colour diamond. The centerpiece stone was first ethically sourced as an unpolished diamond, before being custom cut and polished to the client’s exact specifications. The champagne inside was an extremely rare and coveted 1976 Vintage, 100% Rated Grand Cru, Blanc de Blancs prestige cuvée from the Chapuy family’s private collection.

An Exquisite Experience

The champagne and bottle enclosure were in fact part of the Chapuy family’s ‘L’expérience du Diamant’ offering. The unique experience included: a chartered private jet to the Champagne region, luxury transportation, accommodation in a traditional French Châteaux with 24 hour butler service and Michelin Star dining, hot air balloon tours of the Côte des Blancs Region, and an intimate tasting of rare unreleased vintage champagnes with the Chapuy family from their private vaults.

Bespoke Ultra-Luxury

To commemorate the unforgettable experience, the detachable centrepiece diamond from the bottle enclosure was shipped to Chapuy’s bespoke diamond jewellery partners to be used as the centre stone of a breath-taking custom made jewellery piece named in the client’s honour.
